I was really excited to find this at work:
I know, I know. Who really needs another "special publication" about desserts offered by a magazine. But this one seems to be a bit more special. No ridiculous "mix" recipes. I absolutely HATE recipe books that call for boxed mixes. That defeats the whole purpose of the magazine, in my opinion. And it even gives recipes for pie crust from scratch...a truly rare thing in these kinds of magazines.
These are garnished with peach slices and bleu cheese crumbles. I'm intrigued. I love the mix of salty and sweet---I'm very taken with salted caramel in particular---and I wonder how this would taste.
I need to make this strawberry cake. I just need to. So beautiful. I bet it's light and fluffy and awesome.
I really can't decide which recipe to try first. They are divided into chapters according to seasonal flavors. And of course, chocolate has its own chapter.
In summary, this is a nice magazine with lovely pictures that has surely made me itch to start baking. (All the more excuse to use my new Willams-Sonoma apron) I will have to test out a few to see if they are truly as amazing as they look. And at $9.99, it's considerably cheaper than a lot of baking books. Yum!
I think that I am not going to read your food posts. All they do is make me hungry even after I eat.
ReplyDeleteYou won't read my food posts? :( But I love food so I'm sure there will be many of them. You know I love food; isn't that partly why you like me?
ReplyDeleteThat isn't important. What is important is that it makes me want all the food when I see it!
ReplyDeleteI guess you will be skipping a lot of my entries then. XD
