The fake nails are off again. Now, I used to keep my natural nails quite long. I always felt my fingers looked stubby when they weren't, despite my mother and many others telling me I have quite lovely and long fingers. But lately that has shifted. I still love to paint my nails---my polish collection grows at an alarming rate---but shorter nails are so much easier to keep clean. Plus it's much easier at my barista job, and they aren't as prone to breaking from being exposed to dish soap and the like. The odd thing is, I actually am now of the opinion that shorter nails are more attractive on me; they're "cuter" and feel more natural, and being natural makes me feel sexier. I mean, if I ever get around to getting married, I can't imagine trying to cook for my husband, in-laws or potential future kids while having bejeweled and otherwise heavily decorated nails. Plus it makes wearing fake nails a fun way to dress up.
Speaking of painting them, I haven't painted my little hands in almost a week. I think it's time to fix that. Now, while pink may be my favorite color, blue is a close second, so I have a feeling a nice blue shade is in order this time.
Ahh! Look at my little nail nubbins! Definitely not as glamorous...but still cute, right? Right?
All of the tools I use to polish my fingernails. Might as well do it correctly if you're going to do it.
The colors I decided. China Glaze's Blue Iguana is a beautiful, bright sapphire blue. One of the prettiest blue shades I've ever seen. However, since I always think one can use more sparkle, I'm also using OPI's Save Me as a topcoat over it.
Annnnd we might as well add some little silver stars to the mix too. Silver and blue is such a great, classic (and classy) combination.
Unfortunately the picture quality isn't the best. It is night, after all. The blue is wonderfully vivid and everything is super sparkly. Just the way I like it.
Now that my nails are looking lovely and are no longer naked, I think it's time to make some ramen. Noodles are such a wonderful comfort food at any time of the day, especially when it's chilly out. Dating an Indian has made me reconsider my flavorings, I think...because lately I find I can't eat noodles without dumping some cardamon, cumin, and chili powder in them! That's right, chili powder for the girl who used to turn up her nose the instant she heard the word "spicy".
Haha you are turning more into my brother than me then. Although to be fair I do add some kind of pepper to most of my dishes. Also I really like the nail design. :-) かわいいですね!♥♡♥

ReplyDeleteOh, I paid for adding the chili powder. I had terrible heartburn. That's part of the reason I'm up so early. XD
